About IEEE Nigeria Section Consultants Network

The IEEE Member and Geographic Activities Board (MGA Board) has approved Nigeria Section CN AG which is first CN AG in region 8. The geo-code is CN80139. The membership includes members of the IEEE and affiliates of the AICN who are in private practice or consulting. The networks provide free referral services and serves both independent consultants and those willing to work through contract engineering firms. IEEE CN referrals are primarily provided through the IEEE-USA Consultants Database. Our web site includes the ability to browse and search our networks’members in that database and provides convenient access to the whole database. Our focus is on providing clients with the fastest and easiest access to information about consultants in any part of Nigeria and beyond. The members of IEEE CN include specialists and experts in the areas of electronics, electrical engineering, software, management, medicals, education and associated specialties. They are very active in professional societies and are highly qualified including IEEE Fellows, Senior Members, Local officers, registered professional Engineers, PhD holders, Certified management consultants, etc.

IEEE Region 8 Awards

The IEEE recognizes the efforts of its volunteers and the contributions of its members within its fields of interest. On this page, you can find more information on the various awards that are organized in Region 8, as well as the links to the different MGA awards.

 

The most important Region 8 awards are:

These awards work on a yearly schedule. Submissions must be made using the Region 8 Award Portal, using the links above. Nominations sent through other means or after the deadline will not be considered.

The R8 Student Activities Committee manages its own student award program.

Please give your attention to starting the process to prepare a nomination for outstanding individuals and organisational units. Experience shows that it takes longer than you might think to put a strong nomination together.

The submission portal for these awards will be open until 15 February 2016. Please note that the nominations sent before or after those dates will not be considered.

Class of 2014 IEEE Fellows

In 2014, a total of 55 members from Region 8 was elevated to the IEEE Fellow grade. The largest individual Section totals are: UKRI (13), Italy (9), Benelux (7), Germany (6), Spain (6), and Switzerland (5). On behalf of Region 8, we would like to congratulate all newly elected IEEE Fellows with this professional achievement.

2013 IEEE Fellows from Region 8

In 2013, a total of 70 Region 8 members were elevated to the higly prestigious IEEE Fellow grade. The IEEE Fellow grade is a distinction reserved for select IEEE members whose extraordinary accomplishments in any of the IEEE fields of interest are deemed fitting of this prestigious grade elevation.

On behalf of Region 8, we would like to congratulate the newly elected IEEE Fellow members with this outstanding professional achievement.

Victor FOUAD HANNA

Victor Fouad Hanna, an IEEE fellow, France Section past Chair and Region 8 Committee member in various positions since 2001, has been recently elected by the president of the French Republic as Knight “Chevalier” in  The Legion of Honour which is the highest decoration founded after the French Revolution.

In the photograph above Mr Didier LOMBARD, Commandor of The Legion of Honour (Gener al President of France Telecom & Orange) gives Victor the insignia of this honour Medal on april 05, 2011.

Victor has also received recently during the IEEE Intenational Microwave Symposium, the IEEE/MTT-S Society 2011 N. Walter Cox Award of the IEEE Microwave Theory and Techniques Society (MTT-S).  This award recognizes an individual who has given exemplary service to the Society in a spirit of selfless dedication and cooperation.

The citation reads:

“ In recognition of exemplary service to the MTT Society in a spirit of selfless dedication and cooperation”.
IEEE Region 8 congratulates Victor for the two awards and is very happy to have in its family such honored members.
