2011 Region 8 Awards and Contests Results


Getting recognized for all your personal and your team’s efforts as IEEE volunteers is a great reward for all the energy and enthusiasm you put into your student branch day after day. We received many excellent submissions for this year’s region 8 awards. We have been quite busy evaluating them all and the decision in some categories was not easy at all. Congratulations to all the winners!

The results will also be published in the September issue of Region 8 News.
IEEE MGA Larry K. Wilson Regional Student Activities Award

The award goes to Sinan Sabih from the TAMU-Q Student Branch, Qatar for organizing the ME SBC 2011.
IEEE Regional Exemplary Student Branch Award

The 2011 award winners within Region 8 are:

Outstanding Branch Counselor and Advisor Recognition Programme

Two Region 8 nominees entered the global competition:

  •     Ms. Tracey Cassar, University of Malta Student Branch, Malta section.
  •     Dr. Mona Ghassemain, IEEE Greenwich Student Branch, UKRI section.
