|Prof. Christopher James, an academic from the University of Warwick, United Kingdom, who has been a member and volunteer with IEEE for over 25 years, his a SMIEEE. He is a Professor of Biomedical Engineering and volunteers not only within Region 8, but he is also a volunteer within the Engineering in Medicine and Biology Society (EMBS), as well as a member of IEEE Access Editorial Board, IEEE Potentials Editorial Board, a member of the IEEE European Public Policy Committee as well as being IEEE’s spokesperson on Health in Europe. He is Director of his own start-up company called EMbody Biosignals Ltd. as well as Director of a new University spin-out called Augmented Insights Ltd. |Prof. dr. Matej Zajc is a Full professor at the Department for ICT, Faculty of Electrical Engineering, University of Ljubljana, Slovenia. He teaches courses at bachelor and masters level in the fields ICT and multimedia. For his comprehensive teaching he received a Milan Vidmar award in 2015 awarded by Faculty of Electrical engineering. His research field covers telecommunications and information-communication technologies. Currently, he is mentor to four doctoral students in the field of communications in smart grids. Prof. dr. Matej Zajc actively participates in activities promoting electrical engineering field and activities that promote engineering studies. He is a local coordinator of Erasmus+ project BENEFIT. As an active volunteer at IEEE, he was IEEE Slovenia Section Chair (2010-2013), Chair of IEEE Signal Processing & Circuits and Systems Chapter (2013-2017), and currently he is Chair of IEEE Education Chapter (2017 – ). For the last 9 years he is vice-chair of conference ERK (Electrical engineering and computer science conference in Slovenia), member of many organizational conference boards IEEE (MELECON, EUROCON, EDUCON, ENERGYCON, ICALT).|
|Dora Fourou is a Digital Marketer focusing on Performance Marketing on e-Commerce, and she is a certified Google Ads and Analytics Partner. She has a bachelor’s degree on Applied Informatics in Administration and Economy, and she is an active IEEE member for 7 years. On a day to day basis, she is responsible to create – manage and optimize online advertising campaigns using different Social Media platforms, Google Ads or setting up collaborations with bloggers and public personas. Her main focus is on increasing the ROI (Return on Investment) of her clients.|
|Stamatis Dragoumanos is a Software Engineer and Developer with specialization on Human-Computer Interaction in Virtual and Augmented Environments with almost 16 years of experience. He has a deep knowledge on programming languages, 3D graphics design and development, game development and web application. He is also a Chemical Engineer and has MSc in Computational Fluid Dynamics.|
He has a 12 year experience on teaching programming languages, algorithms and data structures on a variety of student ages and education level. Eight years of experience out of 12 are in pre-university students as an Educator in private primary schools and public high schools.
He is certified Soft Skill Trainer by Erasmus+. He is an inquiry based learning enthusiast and he strongly believes that soft skills development is one of the most important concepts that is missing in today’s Educational System.
He has participated in the forming and first steps of 4 startups and he is awarded by the Athens Chamber of Commerce and Industry for one of them.
His research interests are on Human Computer Interaction, Augmented Reality, and Education.
|George Michael received a B.Sc. and an M.Sc. in Computer Science from the University of Cyprus and he is pursuing a Ph.D. in Computer Engineering. He worked at the Data-Driven Multithreading Laboratory at the University of Cyprus for a few years doing research on high-performance computing. Following, he worked as a software developer at XM.COM and CeraNext LTD. Currently, he works at KIOS Research and Innovation Center of Excellence.|
He is an active Cyprus Computer Society (CCS) and IEEE volunteer and he held various positions during the past few years. Between them: member of the board of Cyprus Computer Society (CCS) / the University of Cyprus IEEE Student Branch / IEEE Cyprus Section Executive Committee / IEEE Region 8 Committee / IEEE Day and IEEEXtreme. He was part of all previous IEEEXtreme competitions either as a contestant or as a volunteer. On IEEEXtreme 11.0 he served as the Technical, Industry, and Judges Lead, on IEEEXtreme 13.0 he served as project lead.
