How to organize a Student and Young Professional Congress?

Holding an SYP Congress (Student and Young Professional Congress) is an amusing yet tricky job. To make it to a really good event, whether it’s a sectional, cross-sectional or regional congress, there are many important details that need to be attentively put into consideration. Celebrate IEEE Day 2016

This year’s IEEE Day is held on 4th October 2016.
Worldwide celebration of IEEE day, every year is hosted by members.
Each year, members are encouraged to host events, parties, competitions and festivities to join together and collaborate on new ideas!
This year is the 7th annual celebration year and it’s popularity is growing exponentially (2010 – 80 events, 2015 – 600 events) To get involved, take a look at the IEEE Day website  for inspiration and promotional materials.

IEEE PES Renewable Engineering in Schools (RES)

Call for IEEE PES Student Chapters around the world to join the “IEEE PES Renewable Engineering in Schools” (RES). This project has approved finance support of the PES Member Drive Initiatives (2016). The RES project will support with educational kits to PES Student Chapters visit and teach about renewable energy in primary and high schools until the end 2016.

IEEE Global Humanitarian Technology Conference (GHTC) 2016 abstract due date extended to 16 May

Dear Students,

The new extended deadline for accepting abstracts for the IEEE Global Humanitarian Technology Conference (GHTC) is 16 May.

 

GHTC will be in Seattle WA, October 13 – 16, 2016. Refer to the Call for Papers here for details. The abstracts should be 200 words max and additional information for authors is at http://www.ieeeghtc.org/author-central.

 

At GHTC multiple disciplines interact to identify, create and advance technology that benefits the resource-constrained and vulnerable populations of the world and help with improving disaster response. The conference’s focus is research, applied technology, and case studies pertaining to humanitarian technology and its application in the following areas:

  • Energy,
  • Healthcare,
  • Disaster management,
  • Connectivity & communication,
  • Humanitarian challenges & opportunities,
  • Water & sanitation,
  • Agriculture,
  • Education, and
  • Deployment.

Authors must submit an initial abstract for consideration to present in an oral session or interactive poster session; or a proposal for a case study, panel discussion, and workshop. We especially encourage the inclusion of case studies on topics that are appropriate for humanitarian technology. Submission of a full paper is mandatory for technical paper oral presentations and optional for posters and special workshops after initial abstract acceptance. All abstracts should be submitted online following the author guidelines at http://www.ieeeghtc.org/author-central.

Advancements and Futuristic Trends in Mechanical and Materials Engineering 2016 (AFTMME-16) Call for Papers

AFTMME is the flagship conference of India that is being organized every year starting 2012. It has become a regular forum for researchers, students, and engineers to present and exchange ideas in latest technological advancements and innovations.

In previous years, AFTMME was organized at I.K. Gujral Punjab Technical University Jalandha.
