We will follow the good practice of virtual conferences, summits, and other business events, while striving to imbue the tailored focus for our students and young professionals. This implies learning from experts, learning from each other, learning both about the technology and cultures, strong networking, getting feedback from our volunteers to steer Region 8 and the whole IEEE, and of course, doing it all while having fun. The vSYP 2020 envisions all of this virtually, with each day of 1-3 hours of content, while exploiting the possibilities of the new situation that is presented before us with emphasized access to global speakers and connections, and openness to a wide audience. This time, there are no limits on the number of attendees nor for the geographic distance. While we can’t unfortunately meet each other in person, there are great opportunities to gather locally and meet your nearby volunteers. For this, we are also distributing parts of the vSYP Congress to 69 sections and subsections of IEEE Region 8, which are in some cases doing very well in fighting the epidemics and have opportunities for in-person meetings. |
