Second Event of ‘Early Career Talk’ Call for Participation
IEEE WIE UKI goal is to facilitate the recruitment and retention of women in technical disciplines globally.
We envision a vibrant community of IEEE women and men collectively using their diverse talents to innovate
for the benefit of humanity. IEEE WIE UK and Ireland through the Ambassador Scheme are calling women in engineering to participate in a technical, inspirational and empowering session tagged “EARLY CAREER TALK”.
This programme supports women from academia or industry who have been in an industry/postgraduate
position for less than 10 years. The first IEEE WIE UKI “EARLY CAREER TALK” event was successfully held
on April 8th 2021 has attracting attention from both academia and industry.
This second event converges the novel (state-of-the-Art) research areas in Engineering,
establishing networking/collaboration links, exploring new research opportunities for developing
interactions between Academia, Industry and Government fostering economic and social development.
This session welcomes speakers/presenters from any part of the world who are:
• PhD students close to graduation and have published papers in respectful conferences/journals.
• Engineers who have participated in innovative projects.

Marwa is a managing partner for HR projects manager at Ghaya Consulting; she built her human resources experience over 19 years working in MENA and Africa region; she has worked for many major multinational and well-known local market leader companies’ “MIDO” for coating, Watania Group of companies, KMEFIC and Procter and gamble distributor.
Ali has background in design and development of mission critical complex systems. He is the Technical Editor and the Chair of IEEE P7000 standard focused on “Addressing Ethical Concerns inSystem Design”. In November 2018, he was appointed as the VC and Process Architect of the IEEE ‘s global Ethics Certification Programme for Autonomous & Intelligent Systems (ECPAIS). In this role, Ali has architected the approach and led the process and development of an extensive suites of five Ethics Criteria comprising Transparency, Accountability, Algorithmic Bias, Privacy and Responsible Governance for Certification of Autonomous and Intelligent Systems (AIS).
Khaled is currently managing the Emerging Technologies & Innovation function at Etisalat UAE. Previously, he worked as a Project Manager for Google, Information Associate for HP, Innovation and Technology Sr. Consultant for the Dubai Government and Program Manager for Etisalat Misr.
Sohaib Sheikh is a Senior ICT and Smart Buildings professional with multidisciplinary, cross-sector, global consultancy experience. He has expertise in strategy, design, implementation, and commissioning of large-scale complex information and communications systems on high-profile, major international capital investment programs,particularly in the commercial property and sports sectors across the United Kingdom, US, Middle East, and Russia.
