Technical paper writing workshop

 

The Technical paper writing preparation workshop will be held on Oct 31, 2022, at 07:00 PM Universal Time UTC

This workshop is hosted by IEEE R8 SAC, IEEE African Council, and IEEE R8 WIE.

 

We shall discuss the importance of writing technical papers and bring to your attention the contests and structure of a quality research paper. The best female student paper shall receive an award sponsored by the Africa Council.

 

Our members from R8 SAC will also contribute to this event.

 

The main guest is Eszter Lukács.

 

Eszter is a Client Services Manager and works with IEEE Xplore Digital Library customers located in Europe and Israel. She gained her Magister degree in Linguistics from the Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin. She has more than fifteen years of experience in the information industry, and she has joined IEEE in 2013. Eszter offers free online or on-site seminars mainly about IEEE Xplore Digital Library and trains the user communities, including librarians, engineers, researchers, students, and faculty. She speaks German, English, and Hungarian and is based in Berlin, Germany. Through her work, she is also supporting a lot of initiatives and the information needs of IEEE Student Branches.

 

With her experience, we are sure that you don’t want to miss out on this opportunity to learn from her and participate in the Q&A.

IEEE WIE Africa Student Writing Competition

In celebration of 25 years of IEEE Women in Engineering, WIE Affinity Groups across Africa collaboratively present; “A Student Writing Competition 2022″.

 

Each applicant may enter one piece of the following question; “Which Woman inspires you the most in the STEM career?”.

 

The essay will be written in English up to 1000 words. The final essays will be put forward to a prestigious judging panel and shortlisted.  Results from the competition will be announced in 3 weeks at a Mega WIE Africa online event on 26th November 2022.

 

Eligibility: The applicant must be a female student attending an African University.  Closing date is 6th November 2022.
