IEEE Data Port

IEEE DataPort is a valuable tool for researchers who need to store, share, access other research datasets, and manage research data over time. The IEEE DataPort platform serves the global technical community and can be used by individuals and institutions. To get started, individuals can go to https://ieee-dataport.org and log in. No membership is required, although IEEE Society members will receive a free Individual Subscription upon logging in.

Datasets will receive a free DOI (Digital Object Identifier) and will be stored indefinitely by IEEE. All data owners retain ownership and copyright to their datasets when they are published on the IEEE DataPort platform. The platform is not exclusive, so even if someone has stored their dataset on another platform, they can still publish their data on IEEE DataPort.

Accepting STEM Champion Applications until 8 April, 2024 (11:59pm EDT)

Are you an IEEE Volunteer conducting STEM outreach programs for pre-university students
and/or teachers in your local community on behalf of IEEE? Would you like to help inspire other
volunteers to get involved in STEM outreach? Then, we want to hear from you!

In June 2021 IEEE TryEngineering.org launched a new IEEE STEM Champion Program to
recognize IEEE volunteers for their contributions to STEM education and to build a community
of IEEE STEM outreach volunteers.

We are looking to add to our STEM Champion team. All active IEEE Members are invited to
submit an application no later than 8 April 2024 (11:59pm ET) to be considered as a STEM
Champion. Applications will be reviewed in late April and selections will be announced in early
May.

The Program resides under TryEngineering.org. The IEEE STEM Champion title is a
designation given to an individual IEEE volunteer and is not a Region or Section officer position.

What are the Benefits of Being Selected as a STEM Champion?
● Recognition for your contributions to pre-university STEM education
● Opportunity to be involved in a community of IEEE STEM outreach volunteers
● Grant funding opportunity
● Opportunity to build Region and Section awareness of your work
● Ability to support IEEE pre-university education by sharing your events and event results
● Access to Champion-specific pre-university STEM education resources

Submit an application no later than 8 April 2024 (11:59pm EDT)

IEEE STEM Summit

Held on 24-27 October 2023, the IEEE STEM Summit is a free virtual event where pre-university educators and volunteers learn about STEM opportunities, resources, and activities. In past years, hundreds of participants used the Summit as a chance to ask questions to award-winning educators and knowledgeable volunteers, who offered practical advice on how to plan interesting and effective outreach activities. Sessions included topics on STEM pedagogy, engineering education, best practices in STEM outreach, inspirational talks, and resources to empower our STEM community.
This year, we will feature several presenters including keynote speakers Tiffani Teachey, Wioleta Burdzy Seth, Jenna Carpenter, and Minjuan Wang. You can read more about them and their passion for pre-university student outreach here. Session topics will include climate change, AI, semiconductors, pedagogy, and more.
