Dear Regional Website Contest 2013 participants,

The IEEE Region 8 SAC team is very pleased to announce the official results of the Regional Website Contest 2013. After challenging evaluation process, the SAC team decided to honour 3 best websites from 22 submitted.

These are:

1st place: ISCTE-IUL Student Branch (Portugal): http://ieee-iscteiul.org/

2nd place: IEEE AAST Alex Student Branch (Egypt):www.ieeeaast.org

3rd place: Southampton Student Branch (UK): http://www.ieee.ecs.soton.ac.uk/

Congratulations for this excellent results! The above presented websites are now qualified for the IEEE Global Website Contest 2013 !
The SAC team would also like to thank all other SBs for their participation in the contest. We really admire your effort in creating your websites and we are looking forward for your submissions in 2014 ! 🙂

Region 8 is celebrating it’s 50th Anniversary this year and the R8 SAC team would like to give the opportunity to SB’s to organized events to commemorate this anniversary and win prizes!

It’s simple to participate. Just organize an event to celebrate this occasion and upload the pictures of that event on the 50th Anniversary Celebration Contest facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/R8AnniversaryContest) with the name of your SB. The competition has officially started and will end on 30 April, 2013. This gives you a whole year to win the prizes!

Prizes:

1st Prize: 700 USD

2nd Prize: 500 USD

3rd Prize: 300 USD

These prizes will be given to the OU’s (branch, branch chapter, affinity group, etc) of the winning entries.

Along with the cash prizes, R8 SAC will send a surprise package to the winning OU as well 🙂
